We endeavor to provide organized information by:
- Networking parents of children of Dyslexia with one another.
- By networking parents with trained professionals
- By providing contact information of resources in NWO on one site.
At the monthly meetings we provide a symposium style atmosphere where parents and professionals can combine their experiences and expertise. It is our hope to assist parents in a timely manner, with viable, workable solutions that will help their child and teachers move toward successful adaptations in their child’s academic world;
What's Coming Up
As of September we will reconvene with a full schedule of new speakers. We are excited by the quality of information that is going to be available.
In September:
A Dyslexia Simulation provided by Northern Ohio Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. (NOB/IDA.)
Experience what is a difficult, daily challenge for some people through six activities involving language. (Dyslexia is 95% of identified learning disabilities of students.)
This is program is not presented very often in this area and we have been privileged to have them come to Holland.
Registration and a nominal fee is required for this one, it is well worth it! Invite family members, and teachers to come. This will be the rare time when people can gain a small window of understanding on just what your child goes through on a daily basis. (there will be a mailing go out to alert you when registration opens up for this
